Total IT Services gains Microsoft Small Business Specialist Status !! Plus A Microsoft Certified Professional Qualification in small business Servers . After lots of hard work, we are very pleased to announce that we have gained our Microsoft SBS status, we have had to demonstrate our working technical knowledge and years of experience in dealing with Small Business Server and the issues and problems that can be faced by small businesses using the Microsoft platform. In short this can assure our customers, old and new that we know the best methods to help you become more productive such as working remotely and setting up branch offices on a budget etc…

Business Link Approved Supplier status:

Once again Total IT Services is proud to announce that we have gained another feather to our cap. We have been through the Business Link application process and gained Approved supplier status, we have provided and had checked our customer references and proof of qualifications etc… – this was fine by us as we do like to show off!

We hope that this will give us the opportunity to form more relationships with other local business in and around the Lichfield area and to help and offer IT guidance to more new local business statups.

Working From Home During the Covid-19 Pandemic

During the last 12 months we have helped, and continue to help clients to work from home, or other remote sites. We can help with the basics such as remote e-mail access and VPN connectivity to office networks and shared files and folders. We can also help to setup other remote working software such as Microsoft Teams and remote telephone access using voice over IP technology.

Windows 7 and Windows 7 Pro

We are, even now, coming accross the odd Windows 7 PC that has been forgotten or purposley left in place. Windows 7 support ceased in 2020 and is no longer considered secure. If you happen to still have a 7 machine in place, be it a PC or a Laptop, our advice is to upgrade it as soon as possible to get it secure again.

Microsoft Server 2012 and 2012 r2 End of Microsoft Support

As of October 2023, Microsoft have ceased any further security updates and patches for Server 2012. We have assisted our business clients to upgrade to a later, supported version, of Microsofts Server family. As engineers we were always impressed with the reliability and features of 2012.  We value our customers security and needs for compliance and needs to budget so we started this process almost two years ago, to allow clients to budget for their upgrade projects.

We are pleased to report that with our proper planning and considered roll-outs meant minimum downtime and realistic budgets for our small to medium business customers.

If your business is still running a 2012 Server, or an older version. It will need to be replaced for compliance and possibly to ensure that you are still covered by things like your insurance, should you be unfortunate enough to get hacked.
